Chapter 16 (4 weeks later)

Time had really flown by quickly. Taylor was training at a quick pace, making it easier for her to become Luna, ever since she’d become a wolf. She was happy, the happiest she’d been in years. Leo was all hers, she was going to be the lead woman of the pack, and her family was back together. What could possibly ruin this?

She’d also started college, and she absolutely loved it. Even Leo came with her, earning herself some ugly sneers from her fellow female college students. ‘Oh come on, he’s just a guy,’ she rolled her eyes, unaffected by their glares.

‘I’m so hurt!’ Leo fake exclaimed. Taylor mentally smacked her forehead. Of course she forgot their mindlink, and he could read her mind anyway. Frustrated, she’d ignored his constant probing of her mind by figuring out how to put up mental walls, but she was still a bit rusty on it.

Taylor was sitting downstairs, watching TV, when Mrs. Knight called her.

“Taylor dear, would you like something to eat?” Mrs. Knight asked.

Looking at the tray of cookies in her hands, Taylor suddenly felt nauseous. Blinking rapidly, she tried to calm her breathing, but it didn’t work. Slapping a hand over her mouth, she raced over to the bathroom, puking up the remnants of her lunch that afternoon. A warm hand began rubbing up and down her back soothingly, while the other was holding up her hair.

“Hey baby, you alright? Come over here, I’ll clean you up,” Leo cooed, helping Taylor to stand up and wash her mouth.

“I’m, uh, fine. I just felt a little sick I guess,” Taylor shrugged. But, for some reason, she had to admit that there was some part of her that was claiming that sickness wasn’t the reason for her nauseous behavior. A small part of her brain, nagging in the back of her head, was pointing to something else.

Giving Leo a halfhearted smile, she raced upstairs and into their room. Grabbing a white packaged box, she went into the bathroom, hoping to God she was just sick.

*********

Staring at the white stick just brought even more fears into her mind. It’s pink positive sign shining brightly in her eyes. The glow brimming her with nerve-wrecking. Would Leo be okay with this? Of course it was her dream to have kids, but she was only 18. And the fact that she still had college to worry about. Honestly, if she was a bit older, and not in college, she would’ve been ecstatic at her present situation.

“Taylor? You in there?” Leo constant knocking had become more demanding. Knock, yeah right, more like pounding.

“Yeah,” her voice quavering. She opened the door hesitantly, seeing a now exasperated Leo standing there. However, seeing the expression on her face made Leo’s face drop the playful scowl it had presently had.

“Babe, what’s wrong?” Leo cupped his hands on her cheeks, trying to get Taylor to look him in the eyes. She didn’t. Just the thought of seeing his reaction made her fear the worst.

“I’m....um,” she couldn’t bring herself to say. Taylor Daniels-soon to be Taylor Knight-couldn’t be confident for once.

She just looked over to the sink counter, where all three pregnancy tests lay. Leo followed her gaze, before his eyes went wide.

He looked back over at Taylor, who had closed her eyes, willing herself not to cry in front of him. But she wasn’t prepared for the reaction she got.

Leo swooped her up into a hug, spinning her around in the air. She wrapped her arms around his neck, while giggling at his gesture.

“Taylor, I’m so happy. I’m going to be a dad, you’re going to be a mom,” he grinned so wide, it almost hurt Taylor just looking at it.

She smiled back at him, before wrapping her slender arms around his waist. Leo hugged her back just as fiercely.

Stepping away from her, Leo dropped to his knees, and kissed her stomach.

“Hey there little one,” he cooed, “your mommy and daddy are so happy about you. I can’t wait for you to meet your mommy, she’s beautiful, caring, and innocent, just like you.”

Taylor’s heart warmed at the scene in front of her, her eyes now pooling with tears of joy. She smiled back at Leo before kissing him.

“We should probably go tell your parents,” she whispered against his lips.

“Mmmh, in a minute,” he reciprocated against her lips, before delving into a mind blowing kiss. His hands roamed her sides, one sliding underneath her shirt, across her stomach, before resting there. She felt Leo smile against her lips. The sparks between them were highly active, tingling each other like raindrops pelting against smooth glass. His lips as soft as velvet cake, his touch as scorching as hot sand on a beach, his breath as cool as the North Pole made her body hum with desire. She could never love anybody as much as the man right in front of her. Pulling away for air, she looked at Leo’s glowing golden eyes ridden with lust, and smiled at him. Life was indeed a strange thing. When bad things happened, we cursed life to be unfair, to be cruel and judgmental, but when life worked to our advantage, we held it so fragile like a soft velvet feather, and claimed it to be perfect. But at this moment, Taylor realized, life was never perfect. Its purpose was to show you that there were things that were perfect in life, that were worth finding, and Taylor believed she had. Leo. Her rock, her heart, her one and only, her life. Life itself wasn’t perfect, but when you found something that meant life, it became perfect. And today, she’d realized that she found her perfect, her life....Leo.
